Haylee Winters is a senior at Lee's Summit West High School with a passion for programming and creating interactive experiences. Inspired by her love for video games since childhood, she aims to pursue a career in video game development.
One of her most rewarding experiences in high school has been attending Summit Technology Academy. There, she enrolled in Java and Applications classes, learning Java, C#, Unity, Visual Studio Code, and GitHub. Through various projects, she developed skills in time management, group management, and planning.
Haylee is also deeply involved in Girls Who Code, a club dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology. She joined in third grade, became a mentor in freshman year, and eventually became President in her junior year. As President, she organizes meetings, invites guest speakers, and leads coding mentorship sessions, contributing to the club's impact on her school and community.
Haylee's dream is to create fun, engaging, and meaningful video games, using her skills and creativity to inspire others. She also wants to be a role model for other girls interested in computer science and gaming, advocating for diversity and inclusion in the industry. She hopes to attend a college with a strong computer science program to further her goals and make a positive impact.
