The Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Kansas City has named Grace Ahn, Founder and CEO of NvisionKC, the 2025 Entrepreneur of the Year. This prestigious recognition celebrates Ahn’s remarkable journey of resilience, leadership, and impact in both business and community.

For Ahn, the award represents more than professional achievement, it is a deeply personal milestone.

“When I came to the U.S. in 1998 with $200 in my pocket for a one-year internship, I didn’t have a plan—just hope, hustle, and determination.”

“Starting NvisionKC in the middle of COVID carried that same uncertainty. But I learned that leadership isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about serving others with honesty, humility, and heart.”

Grace's path has been marked by challenges. Visa struggles, layoffs, and self-doubt are a part of her story, but also the unwavering support of family, mentors, clients, and her team. Ahn credits her parents as her greatest inspiration, noting that their example of integrity, generosity, and perseverance laid the foundation for her leadership. She also expressed gratitude for Kansas City’s vibrant entrepreneurial community, including Growth360, ScaleUp! KC, the Helzberg Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program, and other accelerator and mentoring initiatives that guided her along the way and made her the leader she is today.

“This recognition is not mine alone. It belongs to my parents, my incredible team, , our clients who gave us a chance, and the mentors and community partners who believed in me—even before I fully believed in myself. I’m deeply honored and excited to continue building with excellence, integrity, and purpose.”

The Entrepreneur of the Year award reflects Ahn’s vision for leadership rooted in empathy and empowerment, as well as her commitment to encouraging others who may be navigating seasons of uncertainty. “Sometimes the things we fear most lead us exactly where we’re supposed to go,” she said. “To anyone starting something new or facing challenges—you’re not alone. Growth starts in uncomfortable places.”
